Mighty impressive stats on this monitor.

Plenty of chatter on the board for ViewSonic, but not a peep about any LG units. Is there something I'm missing?

So is there a story behind this monitor, or is it just too new for a good review?

Thanks,

Sorry I cannot comment on this particular model, but we have been using and selling LG LCD monitors for the last few years, and have never been disappointed. No failures, no dead pixels, and great image quality. In addition, should something go wrong under warranty (3yrs including backlight), they do have a quick swap program.

I just picked up the LG from Best Buy. It's already gone at the store I purchased it at, as it apparently is a BB exclusive for now. I've never heard of such an arrangment for an LCD, anyone with more info? I also have a NEC 90GX2, but I prefer this LG. For lots of text work, it's much better than the Opticlear (the review on here is right on the NEC--too bright for document work).

I think the lack of reviews is because it's so new, and so hard to find right now. I called my BB, and they had 3. I arrived 30 minutes later and there were only 2. Now, they're listed online as sold out for that store.

Picked one up the other day.No dead pixels,no ghostin at all that i can see.Playing half life 2 again with all the everythig maxed at 4x AA.Pretty as hell.only problems i have are...

1.$420 and no DVI cable? There is a svga cable in the box thow.

2.Not huge or deal breakin but the black level kinda sucks around the top and bottom of the screen.Youll probally never notice it less playing something letter boxed.

No buyers remorse here im happy with it. I was gonna shell out 800 for the 20 inch nec wide screen but im not a big fan of wide screen

Yes, I was pretty floored that there was no DVI cable included becuse I know the LG L1950B comes with one, and it's a lesser model in LG's line. I ordered one though for just $10 online.

I haven't watched a film on it, so I'll have to see if I have any issues with the black levels.

i looked to the tech specs of this monitor and noticed that the color depth is 16.2m.
http://www.lge.com/products/model/detail/l1970hr.jhtml

would it be a problem not being 16.7m??

and what will be lacked in 16.2 tp 16.7m color?

thanks...
