Hi,
I have got a Nikon D70. I use that with 18 to 55mm Nikor / 300 mm
sigma lenses.Can any one suggest me a best option for a flashgun for this combination under most of the circumstances.

Going by the DSLR lens mm X 1.5 = 35mm film equivalent, a flash that covers 28mm to 80mm for 35mm film should be sufficient. If you're going wider then 24 or 20 mm wide coverage.
For 300mm, most flashes only go to 105mm (35mm film) anyway, so it's kinda a non issue.

As for brands, check Sunpak, Nikon, Vivitar websites for specs & mm coverage.
