Nagging problems with laptop running win 7 ultimate

I'm not sure this is the best place for my question, but I never had these problems with Vista.

Sometimes my screen on my Acer laptop will go black like the backlight has gone out. It's an easy fix though; Fn key with F5 or F6. Also when I'm typing it gets sporadic. I'll be typing my password and the insertion-I-pointer dealy ends up in the user name box. That kind of thing happens when I type else where also. I was just adding elements to a program in visual c# and it went into code all of a sudden.

I have had overheating issues in the past. I'm pretty sure the overheating caused my inverter board to go out because a few months ago my backlight went out. I couldn't get it to come back on. So I replaced the inverter board with a 9$ one off Ebay and now all is fine.

I've got an Acer Aspire 5720z.
Win 7 Ultimate 32 bit
2 GB ram
integrated *** video
pentium dual core at 1.6 ghz

Any ideas?

I just clicked once on an label for my program and it went to the code. Supposed to be a double click that does that.

Does this have to do with past overheating issues? Is my laptop just diseased now?

I use a laptop cooling pad now also.
