I would like to share my email to QbitPC expressing my distaste for the way they support their customers...

THESE GUYS WILL RIP YOU OFF SO STAY AWAY FROM THEM!

Subject: Poor Customer Service Practices
Date: 07/18/2002

I just wanted to drop you a note to express my disappointment regarding how
QbitPC handled a problem that I had with my very first purchase.

I recently made an $841 purchase with your company for computer components
(a motherboard, memory, cpu and video card). Along with the hardware I
also purchased the "Advance Shipment Replacement" insurance on the mobo,
cpu and video card at $10 per item for a total of $30. At this point I was
feeling very good about this purchase. I liked the fact that I had an
option for advance shipment replacement, even if I did have to pay extra
for it.

When the order arrived I assembled the system and immediately had problems
with the video card (an MSI GeForce4 Ti 4600). After testing the video
card in two other PC's I determined that the card was bad. I contacted
QbitPC for support and spoke to someone named Brad who asked me some
questions regarding the card and then told me that the card was most likely
defective. He informed me that the card was out of stock and would be
replaced after QbitPC received an other shipment from the manufacturer AND
I shipped the defective card back to QbitPC. I told him that I had advance
replacement and that I understood that to mean the replacement card would
be shipped in advance (secured with my credit card) and I would return the
defective card after the new one arrived. I am an IT manager and that's
the way advance replacement has worked with every vendor I have ever dealt
with professionally or personally. Brad proceeded to tell me that I was
WRONG and forwarded me to someone regarding an RMA.

The person that I talked to regarding the return told me that because the
card was defective I could return it for full credit if I did not want a
replacement. At this point I just wanted to return the card (which never
worked) and get out of this deal. For this reason a return for full
credit, even store credit, sounded good. I informed the person that I
wished to receive credit and he gave me an RMA.

I returned the card ($12 shipping charge at my expense) thinking that I now
had a store credit with QbitPC for the full value of the card. I then
purchased the card (which worked right out of the box) from another vendor.

Guess what, today a video card was delivered to my house from QbitPC.
Unbelievable. Two weeks after I report and return the defective video card
(at my own shipping expense) I get my "Advance Replacement" card.... That's
service! (at least ten dollars worth I guess.) And the best part is, I
wasn't even supposed to get a replacement.

Now I have to ship the "Advance Replacement" card back to QbitPC, again at
my own expense and pay them a 20% restocking fee to get my money back. On
a $310 card that comes to $62. Let's total this up.....

Restocking fee... $62
Shipping on first card.... $12
Shipping on second card.... $12

$86 for a card that NEVER worked.... PRICELESS!

Thanks QbitPC ..... when people ask what I think of your company (and even
when they don't ask) I will let them know that....
