Windows 7 and HP Officejet 6310xi installation problem after computer restart

HP Officejet 631xi worked fine on Vista. When Windows 7 was installed on computer HP and updated software installed the printer and scanner stopped working after computer restart. HP desktop windows showed error message window that said the HP installation was incomplete

HP Officejet 6310xi deems installation incomplete (unworkable) after Windows 7 is restarted.

HP worked fine after install then failed after computer restart. What do you mean "Win 7 computability?"

Uninstall HP drivers & Software from system & do a fresh install again.
Restart & try.

Have you installed correct drivers for windows 7?? 32 bit /64 bit?

Select your OS & Download drivers & utilities for your printer.
Uninstall the old drivers & install these.

Got correct Drivers/utilities from HP Chat line for 32 bit and installed these twice. Each time the printer/scanner worked until the computer was turned off. Upon restart the HP software gave error windows saying the install was incomplete??

a typing error it is "compatibility"
