is the AMD Mobile Phenom II processors any faster (overall) than the AMD Mobile Turion II processors...??

Yes Phenom II CPUs are generally significantly faster than Turion II models.

the Phenoms 2 are either triple or quad core whereas Turons are only dual cores, so the are significantly faster.
