I don't know which of the following to buy.
Western Digital Caviar 160GB (WD1600JD)
Seagate Barracuda 7200.7 160GB (ST3160023AS)
Maxtor DiamondMax Plus 9 160GB (6Y160M0)
Also is there anything else in the 160GB SATA range I should concider?

Can't go wrong with either WD or Seagate.

The seagate and WD drives are very reliable and great performers. Have you lookeded at the IBM/hitachi 7k250 deskstars? Apparently they are very fast and you can get them in 160Gb versions. Heres a link to a British site that sells them:
