I am planning to buy a wireless camera so that I can set it outside of my house (It will be under a roof), so that I can use it as a security camera. Any suggestion, opinion? I never done this before, so I need as much help as I can.

Good Luck!

I have an X10 setup a friend gave me, because he couldn't get it to work. It worked for awhile, but even when it was working, couldn't trip the VCR fast enough. So, I started the search for computer based solutions. Looking at capture cards, and user opinions vary from bad to don't buy. Hauppauge seems to have good reputation on everything else, no opinions on capture cards. Everybody seems to have the perfect software, just most of it doesn't work. Wireless network cameras opinions range from the product rocks, to huge ripoff. The one common agreement, the cheap cameras need loads of light to work, more then even 100 bulb will provide.

Hopefully someone that has found a solution that works will be able to reply.
