A couple of interesting LCD questions

Better give you a little backstory, about a week ago I became very interesting in the "Super size your Screen for $300" started toying with the idea. Then i found another article the "Replace your Laptop LCD" so here we are. I got some question related to one, some to the other, some to both.

first could I use a LCD instead of a TFT monitor, else the rest of these question are useless, might look over them anyways i think i present pretty good ideas. Except like 7 and down they are vaild question either way.

1: Could i buy a laptop LCD and use it for a lcd screen in the super size screen project, I ask because i'd think you'd need some connector to talk to graphics card. Or maybe they are just raw wires, if they were Raw i could tear into like a 5' DVI can't and match wires or something.

2: Am I abel to get HD with certain monitors, I know they'll have to reach a certain resolution, but I know computer monitors are inherently progressive. So would a 1920x1200( using 4:3 ratio to fit projector) be 1080p?

3: If i am able to use replacement laptop lcd's any ideas for brandnames i should look for?

4: What about brand names for just LCD's

5: should I worry about the backlighting of the LCD monitor since the projector will be backlighting, like would the backlighting effect contrast or something?

6: I've done a little research is it true the smaller the screen the greater the reponse time can be? like 15.7" can be like 30 ms and still play back dvd's?

7: Can i find TFT monitors with HD?

8: anythings i should worry about when it comes to TFT reponse time? contrast?
