Acer Aspire 1690 series monitor problem

Hi all,
my laptop monitor has gone; i need advice about the damage before buying spare parts.
I can see a sort of shadow at power on; than, as the machine gets hot there are several vertical colored lines; the colours are related to what is display on the screen. The external vga is ok and, as i can see, i'm able to turn on and off the lcd's lamp (so i would exclude that lcd inverter is off).
I've tried to remove and change the rma modules, but nothing changes.
I think that the video cable could be broken.
