Hello,
I'm looking for a powerful laptop with Intel chipset, and a graphics management that keeps free system resources.
For example in the pc i built for my music apps I went with a Matrox G550, as it allows to turn off busmastering and privilege pci bandwidth for my dsp cards.
I'm not an expert, but it seems that most of the laptops tend to give to the graphics high system resources (shared mem. etc.), and this is a problem when performing 20-30 tracks of 32 bit depth audio and intensive processing on them.
So, together with an Intel chipset, that is proven as the best and most stable choice for audio, the real thing is the ability to tweak the agp device to do it's homework (no 3d ) efficiently and on it's own resources.
If you have suggestions...i'm anxious to know!
Cheers everybody.
P.S. for problems related to Cubase VST and SX, Creamware Cards and generally to audio, I'll be happy to help AMAIC!
