Hi I would like to know if a higher refresh rate shortens the monitor life expectancy (sorry for my english) for instance 75 Hz instead of 60 Hz in a 17" monitor at 1024x768 and what happens for an LCD 17" 70 or 75 Hz instead of 60 Hz at 1280 x 1024.

Don't have an answer for you. (Never heard of refresh rate affecting monitor life though.)

In any case, with a CRT monitor you should be using a rate of at least 85Hz for ergonomic operation.
