I'm looking for a decent LCD under $500 that would be great platform for photo editing. I realize that CRTs are the way to go for photo editing, but I'm doing this research for a friend who is a photographer, and she reeeeeally wants an LCD.

Can anyone suggest any brands/models that might fit the bill? Or at least list some features that are relevant to photo editing that I should be looking for when comparing monitors? Things like repsonse time are not of any importance, since this display will be used almost exclusively for photo editing .

Thanks in advance!

I have the same need, though open to CRT. Any suggestions?

NEC LCD2070NX. This uses an S-IPS which is crucial for photo editing.

Definitly want to stay away from the 204B for photo editing since it uses a TN panel which is a fairly low grade for this application.
