The setting for (use drop shadows for icon labels on the desktop) under
start/control panel/system/advanced/performance - feature doesn't work on my
wifes desktop, but mine is just fine
In other words, her icons have a colored box behind the font when she has a
picture as wallpaper.
When I switched her background to a solid color the box behind the text was
transparent and all you see is the text which is the way I want it.
Is there a file missing or something?
She said she hit a key or something and a box popped up and started doing
something so she just hit cancel. Ever since then her icons have labels.
I may have to do the system restore, but if anyone knows how to fix this
first, that would be great

Hi Ponyboy,
Give this a try and see if it fixes the problem........
Right-click a blank area of the Desktop, then select Arrange Icons by and
then click on Lock Web Items on Desktop in order to uncheck it.

Thanks Patti, But unfortunately I tried it and it did not work. It wasnt
checked at first, so I checked it first and then went back and unchecked it.
Thanks anyway
