Hi all, I'm new to the LCD world and would be interested in getting an LCD, mainly for CAD, some graphics, games, movies, and general computing screens. Does anyone have a recommedation. I'm leaning towards a 19" screen. Like to have one that shows true black (or close to it) and vibrant colors, and little to no ghosting if possible. Thanks,

Jeff

I would recomend the ViewSonic VP912b has 12ms pixel redraw time; 400 candelas/square meter typical luminance and 3 year warranty for $560 at NewEgg.

Depends how much CAD/graphics work you do. I offered a dual 17" LCD setup to one of our graphic artists at work and they turned it down in preference of their old 19" CRT. Something about straight lines appearing 'jaggy' and the colour representation not being as good.

17" is just too small for cad, plus 1280x1024 is the min recomended resolution for CAD. 19" LCD's and up are just fine with our CAD people...

This is mainly for personnel use and as a consulting job (side job) at home. I currently have a 17" crt Viewsonic A75f(I think) at home and a Sony G520 Triniton Multiscan 21" crt. I am leaning towards a 19", but cost is probably a contributing factor. Like to get the best monitor with best attributes, yet don't want to spend a lot if I don't have to. Videos, games, CAD and websurfing are the main use for this monitor.

I 2nd the viewsonic 912b vote. That's what I'm getting. Also has 16.7 mil colors.
