For quite a few years now, a combination of several small satellite speakers and a subwoofer has been the standard solution for multimedia audio, and has even made inroads into home listening. The question now is whether you can still get quality sound from just a pair of speakers? Two competing products from Creative and Klipsch say "yes", but are they right?
I've been in the market for a 2.0 set of speakers for 2 months now, I've a limited set of resources and I whanted to get it right, I really cant have a subwoofer due to space and sound restrictions. Like me there must be a lot of other people (like students and people living in rented rooms) at least I know a few, but everywhere this low end of "audio products" gets forgotten.
I loved your article! It helped me to cut 2 sets of speakers from my list. Now I only have 2 sets to choose from, and thats the reason of my post if you could help me, I'll be forever thankfull.
I have the Klipsh 4.1 system. The sound is amazing, but I've been plagued with problems. Volume potentiometer has been replaced twice (and needs a 3rd swap), as has the subwoofer (amps inside fried twice). I'd never buy anything from them again. My 2 cents :-P
