I am shopping for a new DVD burner. Plextor PX-708A was one of the better 8X drives back a few months ago.

Since then, many companies came out with their own 8X drives. Many of my friends, even my supplier, recommended LG GSA4081BB. What do you think?

I recommend LiteOn SOHW-812S

The only reason I see to get an LG is for its DVD-RAM
which I would say is pointless, because DVD-RAM is fading out
If you're rich as hell and willing to pay 30% more...go PX-708A
reading all the reviews so far it is the best drive.
OR...get the Lite-On which has great performance at an affordable price

Liteon has bit-setting. Is this important?
