I have the 2 hard drives listed below. I read in the HDD FAQ that putting 2 hard drives on one cable can slow things down a little.

If I put both of them on IDE 1 how much slower would it be than if I just used 1 hd on they cable and also which would you use as master and which as the slave.

Mahalo (Thank you)

You'll only notice a difference if you are trying to access both drives at the same time. So your write speed from one disk to the other, write to both disks at once, and read from both disks at once will be affected. Other than that you shouldn't notice any difference.

So if someone was to set it in RAID 0 on same ide cable, you'd see a hit? Cos both would be accessed all the time? (stripping?)

Ok, thanks. I went back and read the FAQ again and saw about accessing both drives at the same time, missed that for some reason.

So either one as master should be ok ?.
