Sansa E140 1gb player Review

I recently purchased a new MP3 player, after looking and looking I went with the Sansa e140 1gb player. Here are a few reasons why.

Small - good compact size with a nice amount of flash memory

Expandable - I picked up a Secure digital ultra 2gb to top this little player off with 3gb of storage.
(As of now this is the biggest SD card they make. hopefully as bigger cards come out, so will new firmware that will be able to support them.
There is talk of an 8GB SD card! )

Flash Mem - This is important to me because the lack of a hard drive means one thing, more shock resistant. I like to snowboard and listen to music, a HD player can be damaged if it is struck with a good amount of force.

No software - when i say this, I mean no software needed. I can use this just like a usb drive

Price -70 bucks to my door from buy.com plus 80 bucks for the 2gb card. ( I went with a faster card so I can use it in my SLR camera, you can buy a cheaper 2gb card for 40-60 bucks.)

Good Sound - This player has an equlizer and SRS wow.

ID3 Tags - This player, like all good mp3 players should, recognizes ID3 tags. all the important song info thats attached to an mp3 file.

FM tuner - Last but not least a FM tuner.


Some Cons

- Earbuds .......... This is a con for me just cause they seem not to work well for me, but they are a decent pair.

-OS........................The Operating system on this is a little slow and may be a little difficult for some people to use.

-Battery................ Some say that a not having a rechargable battery is a bad thing. I dont mind. This player uses 1 AAA Batt and has good life.

-Case.................... The stock case this player is horrible, you can pick up a silicone one for 10-15 bucks that fits like a glove.


All and all I like this player. It is perfect for what I need it for, and all I hope is that this review might help steer someone in the right direction before they buy.
