I have two 7800GT's (SLI connected but disabled). Each card supports a maximum of 2560X1600. I'm not sure if this is "addative". IE, not sure if I have a total capable resolution of 5120x3200 or if it's still limited to 2 2560x1600.

I would like to do TWO LCDs at 1680x1050 plus a 1280X1024. So a total of 3 LCDs. If my total resolution available is "addative" then I think this will work. If it's not addative, I think I'm limited to just the two 1680x1050's.

How does the resolution capability work when you have two 7800GT's?

Thanks,
SC

IIRC, as long as SLI is disconnected then the monitors are 'additive'. Once SLI is 'bridged' then the GPU's are working as a pair, therefore limiting you to the two Dual-link DVI's and one component on the back of the card.

Thing is, I don't really think the card's native resolutions works in a mathematical format, meaning there's no 'addition' or 'subtraction' in regards to the resolution of a monitor(s) used.

Yeah, I actually bit the bullet and ordered the 3 monitors. Except I decided to go with 3 widescreens. Looks good :)

You are correct, the resolution doesn't "add", but with two cards (SLI disabled) you can have 4 monitors each with 2560x1600 resolution.
