Hi,

Just thought I would let you know for those of you sick of only the
choice of silver, green or blue, you have another option. Microsoft
New Zealand has released a free theme called Royale. It is pretty nice
if I do say so.

I agree that Royale is a nice change. With a few tweaks in Display
Properties/Appearance/Advanced my Windows XP is less boring. Thank you for the link!!!!

This is just the theme which comes with XP media Center is all. Its
been available at many places on the web for quite some time. I have
been using it for well over 6 months now.

And Yes it is much better than the regular XP theme.

turned me off, I guess you'd have to be from New Zealand...

I just uploaded a screen capture of my desktop with the Royale theme installed. You
download that JPG at:

Notice the three dimensional look of the taskbar and the active window title bar. The
minimized apps on the taskbar and Start button change colors when you run your mouse over
them.

Take note though: I did not care much for some of the font sizes used, or the height of
the taskbar. I went to Display Properties/Appearance tab/Advanced button, and then
tweaked the sizes of the fonts for specific Items, and made the Caption Buttons size
bigger, which makes the notification area icons bigger and adds just a bit of height to
the taskbar, the way I like it. (Not too high a number, or the taskbar will go to two
rows, which I do not like) Then I saved the modified theme using the Save As button, on
the Themes tab in Display Properties.
