The ScanSnap S500 sounds like a dream of a scanner from the reviews I've read, but I'd like some advice before buying one.
I have about 3000 color 4"x6" photos to scan and am looking for something that 1) gives be decent scans and 2) has a document feeder.
I'd like to import the scans into Photoshop for cropping, color correction, etc. so would prefer a BMP or TIFF format, would be okay with JPEG if necessary. But when I read the S500 info on the web, it sounds like it only writes to PDF format, that it doesn't do TWAIN. I guess I'm not sure what TWAIN is, thought it was a PC to Scanner interface, not a file format.
