Then go with 1 GTX 485M.(Or 2 GTX 470M's if your budget allows)

Is it easy to change the configuration of a laptop yourself? coz I might go for the single 485M and buy another 485M later when I have enough money or upgrade the CPU to Ivy when it comes out

You can add another 485M later on(They're a little hard to find though) but you can't upgrade it to Ivy bridge because it's not compatible.

While browsing the internet yesterday, I came across some a review that showed how Radeon HD 6970M Xfire is better than 470M SLI on Tom's Hardware. This got me pretty confused; can you tell me the pros and cons of Radeon against Geforce. Thank you

6970M is faster than GTX 470M but 2x6970Ms are sometimes slower than 2 470Ms due to drivers.

ok. One last question. what about the heat produced, which one is hotter when gaming?

sure will... what software is there to benchmark? i already know CPU-Z, Core temp, Prime95, PCmark 05, Itunes, Cod 6&7 and Crysis.

Any games that you have are great.(Including COD6,7 and Crysis).Metro 2033/Stalker are also great for benchmarking.
