Okay, a couple months back I asked which was the better between Kingston 3500, and Mushkin 3200 lvl 2 (bh5) which Crashman and Hardwareboss gave good insights into.
Problem now is, the ram I ordered (the mushkin), the little piece of over priced business called a computer store in this town of mine couldn't get their hands on it, even though they said they could. SooooOooo... 2 months after the fact dealing with a new store, new town, and they deal with Sheika (housebrand?), another no name brand, and OCZ.
I know OCZ is recommended here quite often by various people, but I'm unfamiliar with OCZ completely. Which is going to run better on this board (with a 3.2EE cpu), OCZ EB DDR PC-3500 plat. edition, or the OCZ EL PC-3700 gold edition?
I'm trying to figure out which ones I can get the tightest timings on, and right now I'm kicking myself in the arse for selling my XMS 3500 (bh5) to my buddy when I first posed the mem. Q for him 2 months back (heh, I wanted to use the Mushkin in my system).
Not overclocking the system today, but 3 - 4 years down the road I will be when it's getting close to time to rebuild a new system, and quite frankly I feel queazy every time I look in my computer room and see a sup'd up system sitting there unusable because it has no ram.
Besides the 3500 plat., or the 3700 gold, is there any other OCZ mem you would recommend for this set-up?
Asus P4C800-E
3.2EE CPU
1 gig OCZ Ram - Dual Channel(unknown type right now)
2x 78 gig WD Raptor (raid 0)
win XP Pro
As always any and all help is greatly appreciated.
