Hi,

I just bought a samsung 245BW as an external monitor for my Acer Aspire 5100.

When I connected the monitor a lot of flickering was visible. After a couple of different setups(including another laptop - sony vaio) I saw that the flickering was caused only when the laptops where plugged in.
If the laptop is on battery power no flicker is visible.

I also plugged the monitor into another wall plug and the flicker is acceptable now.

I was wondering what are my solutions:
- get some sort of filter device
- get another monitor
- something else

PS: all the drivers are up to date

Try using a ground-lift connector on the power plugs for the monitor/laptops.

Sounds like a problem with the monitor. I would get a different brand.
