I am a little surprised that no one else has yet mentioned the lead article
in yesterday's _Washington Post_ Magazine section:

World Domination: the Game

Deception, double-crosses, back-stabbing ... It's not that the passionate
enthusiasts who gather around the Diplomacy board can't handle the truth.
They just don't care to

Overall, it was a fairly well-balanced presentation of what happens at a
Diplomacy con, by a reasonably sympathetic writer.

I hadn't seen it, thanks for the link!!! For the rest of you, see
my note earlier..... the Pitkissers and Tempest is only ONE place
to play FTF, neat article, especially since I have met most everyone
mentioned in it. And yes, it was positive. What I'm slightly annoyed
about (and wondering about) is that it did not mention next year's
World DipCon and the arrangements, which are hanging at the moment.
This is worrysome...... these guys are organizing the next World
DipCon and it would have been nice to mention that in the article
(unless I missed it).
