I bought a plextor px708a dvd burner and a lite-on dvd rom and no matter what I do the plextor will not let me burn data to it. I DL'ed the latest drivers all 25 megs on a slow-a$$ dial up modem and tried several different types of media. Nothin'...I thought maybe it was one of those ASUS mobo quirks I've read about on this forum so I swapped out to a Shuttle AN35N ultra 400...same thing the plextor can't see the media it says "no disk found...please insert disk. It won't "see" a DVD+r or a DVD-R or any combination of cd-rw cd-r media tried several different brands of each to no avail. Does anybody have any suggestions???? It will read DVD and CD media just fine. Thought maybe it was software so switched from Roxio to Ahead Nero 6.whatever and went to their site and DLed the latest upgrades from them...still wont "see" blank media.AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAgghhghhghhghgh...

Try updating the firmware - I use 1.06 and it works perfectly for me. I havn't tried 1.07 yet.

If that doesn't work RMA the drive. The 708As work amazingly well when they do work.
