Hi All.

Crystal ball thread:

Just asking if there is any notebook that has Llano/Trinity [ (i7/Sandy Bridge/Bulldozer) CPU & GPU (HD 6950M/ GTX 570M) ] power inside a 11.6" notebook with a 6+ hour battery life?
I used Llano/Trinity to give an idea on what kind of performance I'm looking for even though I don't think those chips will go in a notebook this small.

About how long until such notebooks become available? I've seen i7 11.6" notebooks, so I don't think it's so far away. As early as 2012?

Ok thanks!

I dont think there will be discrete graphics outside of specialty applications in 2020. By then we will either use OnLive type setup for mobile gaming or APU's will be good enough, or both. We are getting close on both fronts right now. I just got HP dm1z and it will play Civ4, WoW, SC2 on low settings, for 4 hours on battery power. I think this is closest we got right now to what OP is asking for. Two more generations and we're there. So 4 years, maybe?
