I'm currently in the way of making a 1500$ rig mainly for moderate gaming (Oblivion,Fear, UT 04, HalfLife2, Guild Wars),

I prefer an aesthetically appealing LCD with great stats for gaming and light movie watching.

THanks - and wide open to suggestions XD

If you are on a budget and want a great monitor I would take a look at the NEC 1970GX. You can get it for $289.99 right now at CDW. Got a USB 2.0 hub, height adjustment, opticlear screen etc.

Well i have that exact LG monitor (1980Q) and i have to say it is incredible! The image quality is superb and oh so sharp! I liked it so much that i overcleaned it and ended up leaving streaks on it :) but thats not a problem as i only notice the marks during dark areas in games. Anyway i highly recommend this monitor if you want top quality!
