I had a similar problem to this. I had a Soyo KT333 Dragon Plus mobo. We were working on it and moving some things around and then I couldn't start it. We moved the video card, so we thought that it was damaged, but I tested it in another machine and it was fine. It was the AGP slot on my mobo. The same thing can happen with the Ram. I got a new mobo (ASUS) and a new video card. Now I'm having problems, and I think my Ram went bad and now I have to replace it.
So your problem could be one of those.

Put one stick at a time and start, put nothing and start, remove vid and start... the opportunities are endless ;)

..this is very useful and helpful place for information...
