I'm in a college and I spend alot of time on campus, so I thought it would be nice to have a light netbooks to carry around and use throughout the day on campus. I am mainly looking at 3 netbooks:
1. Asus EEE PC 1000H
2. MSI Wind (6 cell battery)
3. Acer Aspire One (6 cell battery)

I was looking to lenovo s10 but the release date is pushed back to november and i wish to purchase it sometime soon.

I like Asus EEE PC and MSI Wind for being 10''. Especially 1000H becuase of it's high quality functionality. Although MSI Wind looks nicer and bit smaller in dimensions, its quality doesn't seem to be up to par with Asus from what i've read up online.

I like the Acer Aspire One's look and dimension size but i'm bit concerned about looking into 8.9'' screen for hours if i'm typing up a lab report of a sort.

I just wanted to know people's opinions about those netbooks and if you own them, how do you like/ or not like them.

first, you should decide weather you want one with an SSD or a HDD.

For usability,a 10 inch HDD model is the most practical and has the most value

For durability and portability,a 9 inch has an SSD which can resist drops

As for 9 v 10 inch goes, you should consider the keyboard size as its probably more important than the screen size if you type a lot.

I think Acer has the only 9 inch models with a HDD,Asus only has SSDs in the 901,and I dont even think MSI has any Winds with SSDs at all.

As for me tho,I recently placed an order for a Dell Mini Inspiron 910. 9 inch,16 gig HDD,512 RAM (going to upgrade to 2G),bluetooth,no webcam,Windows XP,external DVD drive and a bag for $606 (mcdonalds gold card discount).

I however, would suggest other people look at the Asus 1000H,they just released the 160 gig HDD model, and its only like $479

I think Solid State Hard Drives are more reliable for laptops since they don't get damaged when read/write data on the road.

What do you mean by on the road? Most hard drives are rated for impressive amounts of operating shock, and are harder to damage than you might think.
