Barry Gerber dissects the technology and functionality of LeapFrog's Pentop Computer and looks at a number of other products based on the Anoto Group's pattern recognition technology. He concludes that there can and should be a place in our lives for this new, compact mobile technology based on a time-honored input device.

Do any of these pen systems support note taking in an academic environment in programs such as OneNote. When taking notes with OneNote using a standard laptop I often have to leave out a diagram, formula, or sketch that is put on the board. Having a pen device that would allow that type of information to be captured would be great.
