I was thinking of buying a new Monitor , my current Hansol 730 17" ( Very cheap . non flat , stupid monitor ) CRT died
as well as the LG Flatron 775FT 17" ( the one before the hansol ) DIED !
currently I borrowed one of the OFFICE its a CRT as well , SAMSUNG 753DFX 17" < I am in LOVE with this one , and its very bright , text looks AMAZING ( compared to my Hansol ) and it suits my gaming needs
I play my games on my humble Athlon 3000+ with 1GB of rams and a Geforce 6600 AGP ( not gt ) overclocked to 550/650 ( pro/mem ) compared to the standard ( 350/500 ).
Currently I play all my games new or old at 1024x768 and I feel very comfortable on 1024x768 and DO NOT want to go higher .
Even if I intend to buy a new system or just upgrade my graphics card I will propably get another mid-range one like the 7600 or 7300 .
so I will also stick to 1024x768
back to the point , I am finding DIFFICULTIES finding a DECENT NEW 19" CRT Monitor , which turned my head to the my personal hated option , LCD .
I have nothing against them but of the 20 or 30 LCDS I've seen across the office , they are crap for gaming .
Anyways now I heard that newer models have response times of 8ms to 2ms , which removes the ghosting and all that crap .
but my question is about Native Res. I want to play my games at 1024x768 , since a 19" LCD Native res is 1280x1024 , will the PICTURE look crappy ??
and DOWNGRADING to a 17" LCD just to play a 1024 game , is Silly , I mean i Could still get a decent FLAT 17" CRT for almost half the money of the LCD .
so what do you think ?
should i still go for a CRT for my 1024x768 gaming need , and which 17" or 19" CRT would you prefer .
or should I go for a 19" LCD or a 17" one ????
btw my maximum budget is arround : $300 for LCDs and $175 for CRTs
