At this point in time is the 9800m GTX the best laptop graphics card? And is there anything coming out soon should make me wait on buying one?

nope. They probably won't use the GTX200 in laptops as the dies are enormous.

The 9800m GTX is the best...not that it improved over its previous cards a lot.

Go ahead and buy it. But, if you find a machine with an 8800m GTX or so in it, and it's a fair bit cheaper, you likely won't be able to tell the difference between the two.

The 9600 is a midrange card. The 8800 is a high end card. you do the math.

I tried google, but I'm new to the whole graphics card mobile benchmark stuff didnt know which link to choose...

8800... 9600 ... i figured the higher the number the better it is
Math wise 9600>8800 i did the math

Sorry. I suppose I assumed you were a little more knowledgeable at tech then you actually are.

 

Anyway, pretty much any card name with a 6 in it is midrange, wheras 9's and 8's are high end - in nvidia world.
