Hello,

I have problem with my laptop, its 1y old, I bought it from a friend, and until now I didnt notice anything bad, because it was always plugged into power. Now what happens is , when i turn it on, w/o being connected to power, it boots up and when it reached windows screen, battery goes to 0%. I've also noticed that when batt. is cca. at 65% (battery indicator), and not connected to power, its like when is at 0%, nb goes to sleep-mode , but when I try to ressurect it, it wont boot up. I have to plug it and then turn on. To my surprise battery is then indicated again at 0%.

Does this mean I have to get a new battery?

hi Maddox

i suspect that ur battery has been used for more than 2 years, for most hp laptop batteries can be used in 300-400 cycles, that is 2 years, if this is not true, you should 100% discharge your hp pavilion dv60000 battery(drain it's power) and then over charge it for more 4-5 hours than normal. to clear the memory effect, if this not work, you'd better get a new battery.

hope this helps.

good luck!
