SATA drives

Was just wandering, is it possible to run 2 SATA drives as C: and D: ? (just like you would 2 IDE drives in a none raid configuration)

Of course you can.
Just keep in mind that you have to connect them to two separate SATA ports, you can't connect 2 SATA drives to a single port like in the old parallel ATA interface (master and slave).
