Hi

Could someone please tell me which CPU to go for between Intel Dual core T2390 and AMD Athlon 64x2 Dual Core QL60?

Both are on near identical Toshiba laptops at the same price. I will be using the laptop for basic web, email, office, DVD watching, etc. No gaming or editing.

Help would be appreciated.

I would go with the Intel one.

I'd go with a QL-60 it's actually a faster chip and closer to a C2D in performance whereas a Pentium Dual Core isn't even close to either one

For the most part in single way systems, you go with Intel. AMD only shows real benefits with 8 cores or more.
