hi, i'm new here, but i've been lurking for awhile, and i have a question for you all:

I have a hp pavilion zv5000, and the power jack is completely destroyed, i have tried to make new connectors but have turned out unsuccessful. so here's my question, is their any way to manually charge the laptop battery outside of the laptop, here's the laptop battery specs: 14.4V 6000MAH LI-ION, thank you in advance

Make a connector? Is it proprietary, or can you just buy one from radio shack?

Probably not the only solution, but it's a start. But I'm NOT wont to continue to use a laptop with any sort of power issue. You're about to travel down a road of quickly diminishing returns, e.g, worn out batteries. It could more cost effective in the long run to have the DC Jack professionally repaired or replace the board.
