i would much rather buy a laptop brand new on ebay that is worth like over a grand for of course way cheaper, im sure you would agree?
i have been on a little browse and have come across some i would be happy with, but now i need someone to tell me what is the best one...
quite a few to look at i know, but if you could please help me out i would be very thankful, also if you know of an even better laptop going for cheap please share
Filling out the FAQ /Questionaire in the sticky would help us help you; but, of the ones you posted, I like the dv7z-- an excellent multimedia machine.
TBH I would avoid buying a laptop off ebay, the horror stories I've heard from people in the past are slightly off-putting.
Some of the highstreet retailers sell at decent prices, with the added advantage that they aren't going to drop out of business overnight. I've actually been out and bought my last 2 lappys from Comet and Staples respectively. Both times exactly the same lappy was cheaper there than anywhere else online. Last time I saved just under £100, and had the added advantage of walking out with the lappy in my hands. Most of the ebay stuff is old models, or refurbished.
At the moment Staples have a HP G7093 in stock for £399 + VAT. That's a T5750, 3Gb, GMA X3100 and has Vista Home premium on it. Avoid Home basic like it's going to cause an illness. it's not got Firewire or a Card reader, but unless you actually need them then they aren't worth paying extra for.
