I have a Gigabyte GA-8PENXP motherboard with 6 memory slots. I have 4 sticks of memory. 2 which are Dual channel (Corsair CMX512RE) and the other 2 are single. PC boots with single channel memory. I get memory error beeps from my board when I have the dual channel ones in. Is there a certain way that I have to arrange the memory? Am I able to combine them? Someone please help me out. ::cough::Crashman::cough::
Should be matched pair one in slots 1 and 3, matched pair 2 in slots 2 and 4, and you might not be able to get it stable depending on the quality of the RAM. Such instability can often be solved by using increased latency or vDIMM.
