Here's the monitor I want: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6824163130

Here's the Xbox360 VGA cables to hook up to computer monitors: http://www.xbox.com/en-US/hardware [...] gahdcable/

Will the games look good on this widescreen monitor... or will it be all stretched/distorted because the monitor is 16:10 ratio and normal widescreen TV is usually 16:9?

I did research but found nothing certain to answer this question.

I don't want to buy a big honkin' widescreen TV just so I can never watch it and only play games on it. I am going to use the monitor for both console and computer gaming as a cheap yet quality alternative. In other words, I am going to have a next-gen console side-by-side with my future homebuilt computer on my computer desk.

I don't even have an Xbox360 yet but I am preparing myself because I also want to build my own computer or possibly get a PS3 instead. I want to get the right things and be ready so that when it comes time to hook everything up I won't be disappointed.

I don't mind black bars above and below the moving picture as long as proportions are all right and the black bars are small. The problem there seems to be with the Xbox360 is that sometimes games will stretch to fit the screen rather than use black bars.

If the Xbox360 doesn't always display games correctly, will the PS3?

Would I be better off with a 4:3 ratio monitor like this one?: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6824163115
