I have a samsung 29 inch flat screen tv and in the back it has plugs labelled Y,Pb,Pr and in the manual it says they are for things that have a DVD output, could some one explain this for me, i know that my DVD player has DVD output (duh!) but how is this different from HDTV although the colours of the plugs correspond to those of a hdtv cables.
Those are for component input. Your DVD player may have component output or not. Most mid to high end players will have one. HDTV signals can be carried over a component cable but it lacks HDCP which may cause you some problems. DVI or HDMI are the preferred ways to transfer a HD signal as these are usually HDCP enabled.
