I have recently bought a razor diamondback because it was touted for having 16000dpi and also looking really cool. But after i took it home and tried it out it sucked. the side buttons were hard to reach, it was uncomfortable, and the sensitivity was high. I ended up returning it after a few days. I liked my 4yr old microsoft intellimouse better than it. Now i really don't know what else to get. I heard the Razor was supposed to be the best.
Also, i'm a lefty. I've been using my right hand for gaming ever since i started. Should i switch to my left hand even i am already used to using my right? Would it improve my performance, since i'm am naturally left handed?
I've used both the logitech mx510 and now the3 logitech mx518. Both have been great with the mx518 having on the fly speed adjustments. The fit IMO is comfortable and the performance outstanding. I have no answer for you left or right question though...
im using the logitech G5 and loving it, the sensitivity switch works great 4 me cuse i use sniper class alot. it also comes in handy for delicate drawings in Photoshop.
I woulda given the Razer a week. I felt the same way (I got a copperhead) and felt like I had just wasted $80. But after a few days of tweaking sensitivity (you can adjust that you know...) I started getting used to it and it completely owns all other mice. I love it.
Alternatives for high-end mice are the Microsoft laser mouse 6000, The Logitech G5 and G7. I recommend wired versions and they are lighter. Better for quick movements and stuff in shooters and RTS games. I can't vouch for these 3 models, but there's a lot of people that bash Razer so they'll tell you how awesome the G series of mice are.
Yeah I agree... a new mouse is going to be a change. You'll have to get used to it. The Razer line is amazing... I love it almost as much as my Fatal1ty 1010 (which also felt really weird at first, but has since proven to be worth it)
