Click on Start, then Run. Type "Regedt32" and click ok.
In the registry editer. Expand HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, expand system, and click
on setup. In the right pane, make sure the values of SystemSetupInProgress
and UpgradeInProgress (if it exists) are 0. If not, change the value. Close
the registry editor.
Click on Start, then Run. Type "regsvr32 ole32.dll" and click ok. Click ok
on the dialog box that pops up.
Click on Start, then Run. Type "services.msc" and click ok.
In the services list, find the following services, highlight them and click
on restart.
COM+ Event System
COM+ System Application
Volume Shadow Copy
Retry the backup operation.

Thanks for your help, I did what your post recommended and
at first it did not work, then I put the services on Automatic,
rebooted, and it worked.
