logitech mx518 gaming mouse good or bad?

i recently bought a logitech mx518 gaming mouse because it has been rumored to be the best gaming mouse around. but after using it for a little while i am thinking about returning it because i am not satisfied. i was wondering if it's because i am just not used to it yet. for the last 4 years i have been using a 5 button microsoft optical intellimouse and have gotten accustomed to it quite well. but the mx518 feels awkward when when i hold it in my hand. my biggest complaint is it's ridge on the right side prevents me from placing my ring finger on that side. this forces me to use the mouse with 3 fingers on top. when i do this, it feels as though i have less control over the mouse, as opposed to having 3 fingers on the side. my question is, does anyone else have an mx518 and enjoy using it, regardless of it's awkward design? should i return mine or keep it and try to get used to it?
