Are the standard intel graphics cards on laptops totally crappy in terms of gaming? I mean do they support the shaders and stuff that the big guys do, or would say Oblivion look totally awful on one? I'm not a big FPS type gamer, but I'd like a laptop that can play things like Oblivion, or Sins of a Solar Empire, and have them run fairly well. I can get everything I want except for the vid card for about $750 US, but most use the Intel vid cards which make me nervous as their pretty much unkown quantities.

Does the memory allocation for the video cards like these work well? Any info you can give me on these cards is greatly appreciated!

Just about any integrated graphics solution is terrible for gaming. Yes, they support the shader models and Direct X, but they just don't have the horsepower to play some of the newer games. You will most likely be forced to play the game at a low resolution with the settings turned down. And with a game like Oblivion that is supposed to be visually stunning, you ruin part of the experience.
