system restore will not load

I recieve this error message when I try to start system restore

Error Faulting application rstrui.exe, version 5.1.2600.2180, faulting
module srrstr.dll, version 5.1.2600.2180, fault address 0x00009826.

Hi Ralph,

Navigate to C:\Windows\System32 and rename ssrstr.dll to ssrstr.xxx.
Window File Protection should replace it.

Next navigate to C:\WINDOWS\system32\Restore and rename rstrui.exe to
rstrui.xxx.
It should also be replaced.

Now try to start System Restore.

Look in Windows\system32 for srrstr.dll,right click and rename, say as
srrstr.old. The file will be replaced from the cache within seconds.
Now close and restart for the new copy to come into service.
