Which companies make good quality 17" LCD monitors?
Is there a partiular company and/or model you would recommend?
I do play games a bit, but most of my time is spent on the internet. I'm interested in something that isn't going to break or degrade for no reason after a couple of years.
Having said that, I don't have enough money to waste on special/high-end monitors unless the difference in lifespan is significant.
I find that glare from indirect sunlight where my computer is makes it hard to see sometimes on my CRT. Is there a particular amount of NITs I should have as minimum?
Samsung, Viewsonic, LG are usually pretty good bets. I personally have a 19" Samsung gaming monitor w/ 2ms responds time and it is absolutly amazing. I had a 15 inch LCD for the last 4 years and it was a huge change. I really like Samsung because of their quality, you can see and feel the difference immediatly once you start unpacking the monitor and feeling how solid it is. Good luck shopping around for a monitor!
