I was just reading the article entitled Sound Can Be Hazardous for Games, in which they benchmark some onboard sound chips with two sound cards. The results for the Nvidia NForce2 APU are impressive, outperforming the sound cards. My question is this: on my NForce2 board, the Gigabyte GA-7N400 Pro, I have both the Realtek ALC650, and the Nvidia MCP-T APU... which benchmark should I be looking at when I compare my sound with the sound cards? I also have a Fortissimo 2 that I'm debating on putting in here. Should I put the card in, since the ALC650 apparently sucks, or use onboard sound, since the NForce APU scored better than the cards?
Thanks for your help.
