OK. Tom's review of the 26" LCD TV aught to alleviate the concerns of many who were worried that a large LCD TV would not be good for play pc games.
Of particular concern was whether these panels could deliver adequate response rates. As the tests point out, most of the models under review beat the best performance of the PC flat panel in response rates.
Anyway, I've been using a Syntax Olevia 30" LCD TV for about four months, and it performs brilliantly with pc games.
Also, I have an XBox connected via a special XBox HD cable that connects to the componect on the LCD TV, and this type connection produces pretty good video, and better than the regular XBox cable or the special svideo cable.
Anyway, the prices are still high for good LCD TVs. In comparison to other parts of a high performance home system, it could turn out to be the most expensive individual component. But, I think any LCD TV at 26" to 32" at $1,100 or less would be a good bargain.
Lastly, many of us output audio (spdif or coax optical) from the PC to an external AV receiver to power 5.1, 6.1, or 7.1 speaker systems.
Even more exotic, some add an external video processor like the CenterStage models, which can upconvert video. I don't have one, but it's in the plans.
